Ha-seong Kim played an active part this season with a batting average of 0.260,

an on-base percentage of 0.351, a slugging percentage of 0.398, 17 home runs, 60 RBIs, and 38 stolen bases.

MLB.com revealed the background for selecting the candidate, saying,

“Kim Ha-seong had the best season of the year,” and “he played all over the San Diego infield,

hitting 17 home runs while successfully stealing 38 bases.”

National League

Ha-seong Kim was nominated in the National League second baseman and utility categories for the Gold Glove award given to the ‘best defender by position.’

This means that he was recognized as a ‘top player in the big league’ in both offense and defense this season.

In the Gold Glove, Ha-Seong Kim competes with Nico Horner (Chicago Cubs) and Bryson Stott (Philadelphia Phillies) in the second base category,

Betts in the utility category, and Tommy Edman (St. Louis Cardinals), a Korean player.

Ha-seong Kim’s chances of winning the Silver Slugger are not high.

Bellinger, with a batting average of 0.307, 26 home runs, and 97 RBIs, and Betts,

with a batting average of 0.307, 39 home runs, and 107 RBIs, are ahead of Kim Ha-seong.
