Kidd extends his stay with Dallas.
The Dallas Mavericks and head coach Jason Kidd have agreed to a multi-year contract extension, The Athletic reported on Saturday.
Kidd has a long history with the Mavericks, having started his career with Dallas as the No. 2 overall pick in the 1994 draft. He is a 10-time All-Star and was inducted into the Naismith Hall of Fame upon his retirement. 홀덤사이트 He won his only Finals title as a player (2010-2011) with Dallas.
After retiring from the NBA, Kidd quickly landed a head coaching job in Brooklyn, then Milwaukee, then the Lakers, before returning to his hometown of Dallas for the 2022-2023 season. Dallas had another long guard, Luka Doncic, as their ace in the hole.
In his first season at the helm of Dallas, he led the team to the Conference Finals. The following season, however, was a disastrous failure. The team made the gamble of trading Kyrie Irving midseason and didn’t even make the play-in tournament.
This season, Dallas is clearly a different team. Irving has seamlessly integrated into the team, and he and Doncic have a lot of explosiveness. Since the midway point of the season, Dallas has become one of the most feared teams in the league and has benefited from the transfers of PJ Washington and Daniel Garford.
The result was a 50-32 regular season record, followed by a four-game sweep of the Los Angeles Clippers in the first round of the playoffs to advance to the second round. The organization rewarded Kidd with an extension before the start of the second-round series.
“I’ve known Jason Kidd for a long time, and I can’t think of a better candidate to lead this organization going forward,” said Dallas General Manager Nico Harrison. As a former NBA champion and Hall of Famer, Kidd brings a wealth of experience and professionalism to the organization.”
With Doncic and Irving at the helm, Dallas will host No. 1 seed Oklahoma City in the West for a second-round series starting on Aug. 8. Can Kidd, who was given a gift by the team, topple the Mavs?
