Celtic are appealing the sending off of Hyun-Jun Yang (22, Celtic).
The 22-year-old was shown a straight red card in the 15th minute of the 2023-2024 Scottish Premiership Round 29 match against Hearts at Tynecastle Park in Edinburgh on Thursday (April 4).
In the 15th minute, Yang raised his right foot high during a ball contest on the flank. In doing so, the referee deemed that his foot touched the opponent’s face. It was a dangerous challenge and a card was unavoidable. After a video assistant referee (VAR) review, the referee ordered a direct red card.
His club, Celtic, disagreed with the decision 스포츠토토 , saying that it was not intentional. On April 4, Celtic announced on their official social media that “Celtic Club is appealing the red card of Hyun-Joon Yang. We are writing to the Scottish Football Association and expressing our concern that the sending off took place after a VAR decision.”
Celtic said they were not appealing the sending off and added: “Celtic are working with the VAR to improve standards in this area. This is in the interests of all parties involved.”
