Kiwoom Heroes’ task for next season is clear. They need to wipe out the last place disgrace. They also need to find a new face to center the team.
Kiwoom finished last this season. Injuries took their toll on the team, but they also finished last despite having one of the best hitters in the league in Lee Jeong-hoo. That puts them behind other teams in terms of power. With a roster built around young, promising players, there are limits.
The problem is that Lee Jung-hoo is no more. He has a very good chance of reaching the major leagues. In addition, they’ll have to say goodbye to their pillar of the mound, Ahn Woo-jin, for a while. After receiving the Tommy John surgery last September, he decided to fulfill his military obligation. He can return in September 2025.
Without a top hitter and a top pitcher, the team will have to take off the “chapeau” for the long haul and defeat the opposition. That’s how hard it is. 먹튀검증 Someone has to step up and fill the void as best they can, even if it’s not those two.
Luckily, Lee Jung-hoo’s replacement is Lee Ju-hyung. The prospect was traded to the LG Twins for star pitcher Choi Won-tae during the season. He was given a chance right away after joining the team. Luckily for Kiwoom, he showed tremendous promise. In 69 games, he batted .326 with six doubles, six home runs, and 36 RBIs. He made good contact and was known for his speed, but he also had a sneaky punch. Barring an upset, he’s a lock for the top of the order next season. If he plays a full season and hits over .300 with double-digit home runs, he’ll be a steal.
The problem is the mound. I don’t really see a replacement for Ahn Woo-jin. Kiwoom acquired one extra pick in each of the first, second, and third rounds of this season’s draft via trade. By the fifth round, they had six pitchers. All of them are potentially good resources. However, it’s unlikely that any of them will explode with the first team right away.
Jang Jae-young, the “900 million arm,” was mentioned as a possible replacement for Ahn Woo-jin. However, he’s struggling with a bad fastball. He pitched 23 games this season, 사설토토 both as a starter and reliever, but went just 1-5. The fact that he hasn’t changed much in three seasons means that there are still question marks over his future development.
Still, if he does a good job this offseason, he might be able to pull off a miracle turnaround next year, which would improve Kiwoom’s chances of avoiding the bottom of the standings.
