On September 24, Choi In-jung defeated ‘junior’ Song Se-ra (Busan Metropolitan Government) in the final of the women’s epee individual event at the Hangzhou Asian Games, and on September 27, she competed with Song Se-ra, Kang Young-mi (Gwangju Seo-gu Office), and Lee Hye-in (Gangwon-do Office) in the final of the women’s epee team event to defeat Hong Kong and win a double gold medal.
“I’m really happy to have won two gold medals at the Asian Games, which was my retirement game for the national team,” Choi said, adding, “I will always be an athlete who strives and does her best no matter what position I am in.” The MBN Women’s Sports Award was established in 2012 to promote women’s sports and encourage female athletes in Korea.
