Doosan Bears manager Lee Seung-yeop
Looks on during the seventh inning of the baseball game between the SSG Landers and the Doosan Bears during the ‘2023
Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League’ at Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Songpa-gu, Seoul, South Korea, on Sept. 14.
Doosan Bears manager Lee Seung-yeop, whose team is in a tight race for the final spot in the standings, has identified the
batting lineup as a “key point” to successfully finish the rest of the season.
Doosan will host the NC Dinos on Sept. 12 at Jamsil Stadium in Seoul. It will be the final matchup of the regular season.
The fifth-ranked Doosan recently lost two straight games in Suwon (KT Wiz) and Busan (Lotte Giants), leaving them 1.5
games behind third-place SSG Landers and NC, and two games behind the sixth-place KIA Tigers.
Speaking before the game, Lee said,
“It’s a heavy feeling to lose two games in a row away from home. Our team’s lack of skill is the reason for the losing
streak, but we still have six games left, so we will try to win again from today.”
Doosan has to play with the mindset that they need to win all of their remaining games because they could be eliminated from the fall baseball season. For the NC, veteran Jang Won-jun will start. Jang is 1-2 with a 2.81 ERA in four games against NC this season.
“Jang Won-jun has shown good form against NC, so I’m looking forward to him. However, if he doesn’t perform well early on, we’ll make a quick change.” Behind Jang Won-jun is Lee Young-ha.
Lee emphasized that the offense needs to break out in order to rack up a lot of wins in the remaining games.
“Our pitching has held us up so far. But lately, we’ve had some tough games with the mound going down quickly, so we need our hitters to step up. The bullpen is also struggling. The core hitters, including Kim Jae-hwan, need to do their part to help the mound.” 카지노사이트존
