Professional basketball team LG lost 89-91 in the final game of Group B of the 2023 MG Saemaul Money KBL Cup against KCC at Wolmyeong Gymnasium in Gunsan on Wednesday. After a victory over Korea Gas Corporation, LG failed to advance to the quarterfinals with the loss to KCC.

Lee Kwan-hee stood out in the loss. She scored 21 points, two rebounds, and five three-pointers in 25 minutes and eight seconds of action. After being held scoreless in the third quarter, Lee scored 21 points in the fourth quarter alone to pull KCC within striking distance.

LG was outplayed on the day by KCC’s offense, which featured Alize Johnson, Choi Jun-yong, and Heo Woong. They were unable to fight back and surrendered the lead in the first half. Heo was on fire from three-point range, and it wasn’t easy to turn it around. Asem Marei and Dante Cunningham struggled in the matchup.

It was Lee Kwan-hee who broke the silence for LG. Lee hit back-to-back three-pointers from the corner. Lee Seung-woo followed up with a three-pointer of his own to give LG a foothold in the game. Lee Kwan-hee even hit a three-pointer just before the end of the game, but there wasn’t enough time left.
