PSG look to sign Kimmich to bolster midfield
German ‘genius’ Jozua Kimmich (29, Bayern München) could become a teammate of Lee Kang-in (23, PSG).
“Jozua Kimmich’s name is back on the table for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG),” reported France’s RMC Sport on April 4 (KST).
Kimmich has been regarded as a major force in Munich. He has played the role of a “playmaker,” creating plays with his hard work in the center of the park.
This isn’t the first time Kimmich has been rumored to be on the move. Last year, FC Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski supported Kimmich’s move to Barcelona. “I would say to Kimmich that Barcelona is a team worth moving to. The environment here is different from Munich. Munich and Barcelona are big clubs, but everything is different,” he said at the time.
At the time, Barcelona were in need of a replacement for Sergio Busquets and had actually expressed interest in signing Kimmich.
However, this is the first time that a parting of the ways between Kimmich and Munich has been this close. Last month, Sky Sports reported that “a transfer that has long been unthinkable is now becoming concrete” and that “Kimmich could leave Bayern Munich as soon as this year and as far away as next year.”
“PSG are keen to strengthen their midfield this summer and have reignited their interest in Kimmich, who has 먹튀사이트 recently been at the Euros with the German national team,” RMC Sport reported on April 4.
“At the moment, Kimmich is more accessible than Joao Neves,” the outlet said, adding that “SL Benfica do not want to let Neves go. Neves has been a priority for Luis Enrique, but Benfica are now demanding €100 million ($149.2 million) for his transfer. PSG are therefore preparing to make another bid for Kimmich.”
“Kimmich is highly regarded by coach Enrique. His skills, leadership and versatility to play in multiple positions are among the things he appreciates,” the source explained.
“The arrival of João Palinha could facilitate a move for Kimmich. However, there are a number of clubs keeping tabs on Kimmich, including Manchester City,” he adds, emphasizing that it won’t be an easy signing.
