‘When are we signing a striker?
Arsenal’s wait is over.
Bologna have reportedly made a tentative decision to sell ace striker Joshua Giroud in the summer transfer window.
According to Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport, Bologna have made an early bid of €40 million, his buyout clause.
The Dutch international forward has scored 11 goals and provided four assists in 34 league games this season, helping Bologna to a fifth-place finish in the league and a spot in next season’s UEFA Champions League (UCL).
The frontline striker’s performances have attracted interest from several clubs. AC Milan, Juventus, and Arsenal have all been interested in him. All of them have something in common: a weak striker at the top of their spine.
The deal seemed to be solidifying, but there was a problem. The club and his agent disagreed over the percentage of the transfer fee. This is where Juventus stepped in.
The agent wants a fee of €15 million, which Milan insists they will never pay. Zirkic’s fate is tied to the fee.
As the negotiations stalled, Juventus, who are said to be keen on Zirzi, stepped in. With the potential departure of 안전놀이터 Nikola Vlahovic, the need for a new striker has become imperative, and Zirci fits the bill.
Juventus are said to be in contact with the player on multiple fronts. President Cristiano Giuntoli is said to have been approached by the Bianconeri. The arrival of Thiago Motta, who managed Bologna last season, has turned the tide for Juventus. He wants to sign Zirkic unconditionally.
Giroud managed just two goals and two assists in 19 league games under Motta in 2022-23, but he’s been even better this season. It’s no wonder Motta wants him back.
Milan are an embarrassment of riches. Paulo Fonseca wants to add variety to his attacking 에볼루션 바카라사이트 options, so he made a big bid for Zirkic, but the deal fell through.
This doesn’t bode well for Arsenal either. They have a lot of striker options and have been looking at Giroud, but he’s shrinking like a dying man. If the Gunners lose out on Zirzi, their striker recruitment could be thrown off kilter. Already, Eddie Nketiah’s departure is solidifying and Gabriel Jesus’ presence is diminishing.
This is an Arsenal that could be neither here nor there if they don’t move quickly. Benjamin Cesco (Leipzig) has re-signed with the club and is eyeing Victor Osimhen (Napoli), but Chelsea have competition in Paris Saint-Germain. Arsenal are also eyeing Artem Dowiek (Girona).
