Chelsea FC has made a decision. They want to offload Connor Gallagher and Raheem Sterling and bring in RB Leipzig attacking midfielder Dani Olmo.
According to Steve Kaye of Football Transfers, “Chelsea have opened talks with RB Leipzig about a possible summer move for Olmo. Chelsea will consider the departures of Gallagher and Sterling, and Olmo is seen as a suitable replacement to match their departures.”
This season, Chelsea has struggled in the English Premier League (EPL). The Blues are 11th in the league with 39 points from 11 wins, 6 draws, and 10 losses. With the exception of Cole Palmer, the rest of the squad has struggled, especially Gallagher and Sterling, who are supposed to lead the attack.
Gallagher returned to Chelsea last season after a good spell at Crystal Palace, where he spent the 2021-22 season on loan. However, last season was a disappointment. Gallagher scored just three goals and one assist in 35 games and was unable to prevent Chelsea’s downfall. This season, he hasn’t fared much better with two goals and five assists in 26 games.
