Kim Su-ji ranked third with a total of 302.45 points in the first to fifth periods in the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games Diving Women’s 3m Springboard Preliminary held at the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center swimming pool in Zhejiang, China, on the 4th.

Park Ha-reum (25, Gwangju Metropolitan City Hall) finished the preliminary round in 8th place with 219.50 points.

Excluding Noor Sabri (Malaysia), who did not participate in the preliminaries,

World Championships

No Korean athlete has yet won a medal in the women’s 3m springboard diving event,

This is an opportunity for Kim Su-ji, the ‘Korean women’s diving symbol,’ to set another milestone.

Suji Kim placed third in the women’s 1m springboard at the 2019 Gwangju World Championships,

making her the first Korean female athlete to win a World Aquatics Championships medalist.

In the preliminaries, China’s Chen Yiwen (376.00 points) and Chang Yani (320.15 points),

who jointly won the gold medal in the women’s synchronized 3m springboard event, ranked first and second.

Suji Kim is expected to compete for the bronze medal in the finals with Sayaka Mikami (Japan),

who placed fourth in the preliminary round with 301.05 points.

In the men’s 10m platform individual preliminaries, Kim Young-taek (22, Jeju Provincial Office) took 6th place with 389.95 points,

Lee Jae-kyung (24, Gwangju Metropolitan City Sports Council) took 7th place with 367.60 points.

13 people participated in the preliminaries that day, and 12 will advance to the finals held in the afternoon.
