South Korea national football team head coach Klinsmann
Speaks during an official press conference at the National Training Center (NFC) in Paju, Gyeonggi-do, on Wednesday
afternoon. Klinsmann’s team will play two exhibition matches against Tunisia on Oct. 13 and Vietnam on Oct. 17.
South Korea coach Jürgen Klinsmann has vowed to keep the momentum of his team’s victory at the 2022 Hangzhou Asian
Games alive in their upcoming exhibition matches against Tunisia.
Klinsmann’s men will face Tunisia at 8 p.m. on Oct. 13 at the Seoul World Cup Stadium. On the 17th, they will face Vietnam at Suwon World Cup Stadium.
South Korea beat Saudi Arabia in Newcastle, England, last month, its first win in six matches since Klinsmann took over.
Now, the Taeguk Warriors will look to make it two wins in a row in front of their home fans and get their first home win.
A day before the match against Tunisia, Klinsmann said at the pre-match press conference at Paju NFC, “The October A
match is the last evaluation match before we start the second round of qualifying for the 2026 North American Football
Championship. We want to finish the two matches in October well and give our fans a good game,” he said.
“We want this to be a step in our growth and development ahead of the Asian Cup next January. We’ve had four calls-ups,
so we know a lot about the players. The players have a good understanding of the current system,” he said. “We hope to
get good results (in the October A-match schedule) and prepare well for the World Cup Second Qualifiers and the Asian Cup.”
The national team is in good spirits right now.
Son Heung-min (Tottenham? 6 goals) and Hwang Hee-chan (Wolverhampton? 5 goals) have been scoring nonstop in the
English Premier League (EPL), one of the best leagues in the world. Jo Kyu-sung (Mitwylan), Kim Min-jae (Bayern Munich),
Hwang In-beom (Zvezda), and Lee Jae-sung (Mainz) also play a key role for their clubs.
In addition, Lee Kang-in (Paris Saint-Germain), Jung Woo-young (Stuttgart), Seol Young-woo (Ulsan), and Hong Hyun-seok
(Ghent) were recently called up to the squad after winning gold medals at the Hangzhou Asian Games. Jung Woo-young
was the top scorer at the tournament with eight goals, leading South Korea to its third consecutive title.
“I expect the players to bring their performances at the Asian Games to the next two games in October,” said Klinsmann.
“We know what it means to win a gold medal at the Asian Games. “We know what it means to win a gold medal at the
Asian Games, and I hope that positive vibe carries over to the A team.
Speaking about Jung Woo-young in particular, he said: “He showed good performances not only at the Asian Games but
also for his team. He moved to Stuttgart ahead of the season and has continued to perform well with increased playing time.” “He can play multiple positions. “He can play multiple positions, and we’ll figure out which one we want to use in training and matches,” he added. 19가이드03
