EPL Man City close to signing Wolverhampton Wolves’ Nunes for KRW 795 million

City have been looking to bolster their squad after star midfielder Kevin De Bruyne suffered a hamstring injury in the opening game of the 2023-2024 Premier League season. Portugal international Nunes, born in 1998, scored one goal and provided one assist in league play last season. Wolverhampton originally demanded €69 million, or more than $100 million in Korean won, for Nunes and reportedly held one round of talks with City last week .In this situation, Nunes was fined by the Wolverhampton club two days ago for missing team training, saying he wanted to go to Man City. On the same day, City and Wolverhampton also agreed to loan City’s 2001-born midfielder Tommy Doyle to Wolverhampton. While Nunes and Doyle are separate transfers, the deal will see City send Doyle to Wolverhampton for a transfer fee of €55 million and receive Nunes in return .With the English professional soccer transfer window closing on Sept. 1 local time, an official announcement of Nunes’ move to City is expected soon.
