A North-South clash in women’s soccer at the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games has been set.
Colin Bell’s South Korea defeated Hong Kong 5-0 in their final Group E match on Monday at the Olympic Sports Center Stadium in Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province, China.
Having already clinched two early wins to top the group and advance to the quarterfinals, Bell went with a rotation system. They still managed to score five goals, including a brace from Moon Mi-ra.
South Korea could have faced the winner of Group C or the second-place finisher from Group D. Instead, their quarterfinal opponent was Group C champion North Korea. North 스포츠토토 Korea also finished first in Group C with two wins. This means that North and South Korea will face off in the quarterfinals on March 30.
Women’s soccer’s best result at the Asian Games is a bronze medal. If they can beat North Korea, they’ll have a shot at their best result ever.
