‘Walk-off controversy’ NC’s Park Gun-woo fires up home run gun in first-team debut

Park Gun-woo (NC Dinos), who was involved in the ‘walk-off’ controversy, fired a home run in his comeback game.

Park hit a home run in the top of the fifth inning of the 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League against the Hanwha Eagles at Hanwha Life Eagles Park in Daejeon on May 21, starting as the No. 3 hitter in right field to give the Dinos a 4-0 lead.

Coming to the plate after a two-run double by NC’s Yoon Hyung-jun, Park took a four-pitch fastball from opposing starter Ricardo Sanchez for a solo shot to left field.

It was his eighth home run of the season and his first in a month, after hitting one against the LG Twins on March 21.

Park Gun-woo, who was removed from the first team due to a controversial walk at the end of the first half, returned to the first team at the start of the second half after a meeting with NC manager Kang Myung-ho. He made a spectacular comeback by activating the home run gun from the start.

Back-to-back home runs by Yoon Hyung-jun and Park Gun-woo gave NC a three-run lead in the fifth inning, 한국야동 making it 5-0.
