Bayern Munich, a powerhouse in the German professional soccer Bundesliga that is visiting Korea for the Coupang Play series, drew 1-1 with a 4th division team in a pre-season friendly match.
Munich tied with FC Düren (4th division) in the second friendly match of the 2024-2025 pre-season, with each team scoring one goal, held in Willich, Germany on the 28th (local time).
Munich, which gave its starting players a lot of rest ahead of the Coupang Play series, conceded the first goal in the 40th minute of the first half, but scored an equalizer in the 24th minute of the second half to end the game in a draw.
Kim Min-jae started as a central defender and was replaced by Noel Aseko 커뮤니티 Nkili in the 21st minute of the second half.
However, Munich suffered the misfortune of having Japanese national team defender Hiroki Ito injured during the friendly match that day.
Japan’s Ito, who started alongside Kim Min-jae in the match that day, was substituted due to an injury in the 21st minute of the first half.
The Munich club announced on their website, “After the match, a medical examination revealed that Ito had fractured his metatarsal bone. He will be out of action for several weeks.”
Accordingly, Ito’s prospects of playing in the second match of the Coupang Play series against Tottenham Hotspur (England) scheduled for August 3 have become bleak.
