Kim Bum-seok went 0-for-3 with a walk in the Futures League.

LG Twins catcher Kim “Bum-bao” Bum-seok went 0-for-3 with a walk in the Futures League.

Kim, who was removed from the first team roster ahead of the game against Jamsil Kiwoom on June 6, started at No. 7 catcher in the Futures League against the Samsung Lions at Gyeongsan Ballpark on June 7.

In the second inning, Kim Bum-seok singled to left and Kim Joo-sung walked to load the bases with one out.

After getting out on a fly ball to left field in the fifth inning, Kim Bum-seok had a fielder’s choice in the seventh inning with runners on second and third. Kim Bum-seok was replaced by Jeon Jun-ho in the bottom of the seventh inning for defense. LG lost to Samsung 2-5.

Kim, who joined LG as a first-round (No. 7) pick in the 2023 rookie draft, had a disappointing debut season last year, batting 1-for-1 (3-for-27) with one home run, four RBIs, three runs scored and a .397 OPS in 10 games. In the Futures League, however, he showed promise, batting .286 스포츠토토 (56-for-196) with six home runs, 31 RBI, 20 runs scored, and a .789 OPS in 58 games.

After starting the year in the second team, Kim was called up to the first team on April 12 and has been a force in the LG batting order ever since, providing big hits when the team needed them. In 34 games, Kim is batting 28-for-98 with five home runs, 19 RBIs, 11 runs scored, and an OPS of .817.

However, his pace has slowed down recently.

In his last 10 games, Kim is just 1-for-27 with two home runs, three RBIs and four runs scored. In June, he appeared in two of LG’s four games, going 1-for-4 with a walk and a run scored.

Before the game on June 6, manager Yoon Kyung-yup said, “The infield is getting tired because we don’t have (Oh) Ji-hwan. The coaching staff recommended that we need an infield resource, and I thought it was better for (Kim) Bum-seok, who has a little less experience, to go down to the second team and gain experience rather than stay on the bench.”

“Actually, we wanted to use him as a catcher, but the team situation is not favorable. If he goes down to the second team this time, I think it will be much more beneficial for him to play three of the six games as a catcher and three as a designated hitter. He needs to get experience on both sides of the plate, and if he’s on the bench in the first team, he’s not going to be ready for anything,” he added.

“We’re trying to plan and develop him like this because we see potential,” 온라인 슬롯 said coach Yoon Kyung-yup, who emphasized Kim’s potential. “It’s not just sending him to the second team. We are interested in him because he has the potential to grow, so we are planning to develop him. Since we are sending them to the second team with a plan, the players must understand it well and do their part. If they don’t, they’re not going to grow.”
