Choo Shin-soo (41, SSG Landers) achieved 2,000 hits in Korea-US career.

Choo Shin-soo started as the number 2 designated hitter in the professional baseball visiting game against the Lotte Giants held at Sajik Stadium in Busan on the 24th and hit a heavy hit in his second at-bat in the second inning.

In the top of the second inning, with SSG ahead 3-2, with one out and runners on first and second base, Choo Shin-soo targeted Lotte starter Lee In-bok’s two-seam fastball and made a timely hit with one RBI.

It is Choo Shin-soo’s 329th hit in the KBO League and the 2,000th hit in Korea-US history.

Choo Shin-soo, who was caught in a terrible 9th move after hitting his 1,999th hit between Korea and the United States in the game against KT Wiz on the 14th, added another hit in 10 days to reach 2,000 hits.

Choo Shin-soo, who graduated from Busan High School and moved to the United States by signing a contract with the Seattle Mariners in 2001, endured a difficult minor league life and debuted in the big league in 2005.

Afterwards, he traveled through the major leagues until 2020, posting a batting average of 0.275 (1,671 hits in 6,087 at-bats), 218 home runs, 782 RBI, and 157 stolen bases in 1,652 games.

The number of games played, hits, home runs, RBIs, and stolen bases are all records for a Korean big leaguer.

Choo Shin-soo, who came to the Korean stage by signing with SSG in 2021, added 329 hits until his second at-bat of the day.

SSG coach Lee Soong-yong gave a bouquet of flowers to Choo Shin-soo after the attack ended in the top of the second inning, and Choo Shin-soo smiled while holding the 2,000 hit commemorative ball. 섯다
