Korean Soccer Aims For Third Straight AG Title, Draws Easy Group

South Korea’s bid for a third consecutive gold medal draws a tough group

The South Korean Under-24 men’s national soccer team, looking to win a third straight gold medal at next month’s Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, has been drawn with Bahrain for a spot in the round of 16. At the group draw in Hangzhou, China, South Korea was drawn into Group E alongside sportstotozone Bahrain, Thailand, and Kuwait. It was a relatively easy grouping, avoiding the likes of powerhouses Iran and Qatar. Japan was placed in Group D with Palestine and Qatar, a group of only three teams, while North Korea was drawn in Group F with Indonesia, Kyrgyzstan, and Chinese Taipei. The Korean Women’s Asian Games soccer team was placed in Group E alongside Myanmar, the Philippines, and Hong Kong.
