The total prize fund for the Gunsan CC Open on the Korean Professional Golf (KPGA) Tour has been set at 979.29 million won ($970.97 million), with various proceeds supplementing the base prize fund.
The tournament organizers announced on Thursday that the tournament had received 279.29 million won in proceeds through the previous day ahead of the final round.
The total prize pool for the tournament will be based on the base prize of 700 million won.
Proceeds came from Pro-Am entries, gallery tickets, food, beverage, and souvenir sales.
The proceeds will be rolled over to next year’s tournament, when the final round will be held on Nov. 14.
Gunsan Country Club, the tournament’s co-host, actively sold tickets for the event under the slogan “Gallery All is an Open Sponsor of Gunsan CC.
Although the tournament fell short of the KRW 1 billion mark, it is considered a great achievement to generate nearly KRW 300 million in revenue for the tournament, even though it was not held in the metropolitan area, where galleries are often crowded.
In particular, the tournament was well-received by the players, as the proceeds were given to the players as prize money, unlike the customary practice of using the proceeds for tournament expenses.
As the total prize pool grew, so did the first-place prize, which was increased to $195.85 million. The original prize pool for the tournament was 140 million won.
The Gunsan CC Open, which celebrated its 12th edition this year, is treated as a tournament comparable to the majors because of its high contribution to the KPGA Tour, with the winner receiving a three-year seeding. 바카라사이트
